Rain, Rain

December 21, 2012

This weather is exactly what happens when I open my big mouth...today cold and rainy.  I braved it like a champ to snap some quick pictures before heading into work.  I will be blogging off and on starting next week since I will be traveling so happy holidays everyone!

Holiday Warmth...

December 20, 2012

I cannot believe it is almost Christmas and I am not wearing tights, this weather is crazy and I am not sure how I feel about that.  I hate being cold but kind of miss dressing in all sorts of layers and using all my heavy coats and scarfs.
( I am probably going to regret saying this later on)

Times Square Necklace WINNER

Tied Up With A Bow

December 17, 2012

Today I went for a little bit of glitz with my sequin bow tank. I added a knee length skirt and a cardigan to make it work appropriate but for the weekend I think it would look great paired with skinny jeans, tall black boots and a motorcycle jacket (if I had one).

Only a couple more hours to enter the Times Square Necklace giveaway...winner will be announced tomorrow!

The BluePrint Cleanse- The End

December 14, 2012

I DID IT!

I did it, I did it, I did it, I did it, I.DID.IT!
Can you tell how proud of myself I am AND it was seriously the easiest thing ever, no lie.

I was so nervous the night before I started (see the beginning here) and I had absolutely nothing to worry about.  The juices kept me feeling full and I had no crazy side effects from not eating solid food for 72 straight hours.

I chose the Renovation Cleanse because it was recommended for first time juicers.  The juices were delivered right when my first day e-mail said they would be and as apprehensive as I was about tasting the "green juice" I was pleasantly surprised.  The green juices got a lot of negative feedback on the BluePrint Cleanse website and in The 3 Day Cleanse book but my taste buds must be weird cause I actually liked it!

The next juice in my day (they are numbered from 1 to 6 in order of the way you drink them) was PAM juice or pineapple, apple and mint juice and that one was tart and minty. Number three was another green juice containing all the same veggies as number one.  Number four tasted very much like diluted lemonade with a swift kick from cayenne pepper.  During the entire cleanse I tried to drink juices 1-4 while I was at work saving the last two for when I went home.

Now number five was my least favorite by far only because A- I do not like beets and B- I am not a big fan of ginger and this juice combined them together.  It was not unbearable but the aftertaste, I kid you not, tasted like if dirt gets in your mouth (don't act like you have never tasted dirt when the wind blows somewhere dusty).  After I chugged number five down it was worth it because number six was my favorite of them all.  It was cashew milk and the only way I can describe it is if you have ever eaten Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal and all the milk left in the bowl after you eat it-tasted just like that.

I definitely could have done a longer cleanse and now that I know how easy it was I probably will in the future.  I highly recommend BluePrint Cleanse to anyone interested in detoxing and just needing a jump start to healthier living.  If anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to contact me and be sure to check out all the testimonials if you still are unsure!

Note- these opinions are all my own so blame my taste buds if you have done the cleanse and think differently

Winter White...

December 13, 2012

I still like to wear my white jeans in the winter months and that rule about not.wearing.white.after.Labor.Day is old news.

I actually forgot I had these boots so it was like an early Christmas present when I was reunited with them, yay me.

Casual Holiday Style...

December 12, 2012

If you follow this blog regularly, you know I dress pretty casual most of the time.  I have been seeing outfits involving lots of form fitting dresses, sparkles and lacey goodness all over the Internet lately and while I think they are beautiful- that is just not me.

This is a casual "holiday outfit" I wore to work but I also would wear this to a dinner date, party or out with friends this time of year.  Bow heels, polka dot tights, a fancy necklace and a unique skirt tied up in one low-key package (thanks to my hoodie).

The BluePrint Cleanse- The Beginning

December 10, 2012

blueprint-cleanse-renovation-juices

I found out about the BluePrint Cleanse randomly while reading Lucky Magazine a month or so ago.
When the lady they were interviewing wanted to detox she drank the juices for a couple days to get back on track.

Something about that little sentence prompted my interest so I began researching everything I could about the company and how the cleanse worked.  I read all about it online, I bought The 3 Day Cleanse book that was written by the founders of BluePrint Cleanse and started reading it immediately, I turned to Twitter and got feedback from normal, everyday people like myself and then when the website had a 20 percent off discount after Thanksgiving- I finally purchased it!

I wasn't strong enough mentally to handle the 3 day cleanse over the weekend- I am very social and cannot bear the thought of sitting at home while all my friends are out going to dinner, sipping wine, etc. so I scheduled it to arrive this week during the week day.  This past Saturday I started slowly changing my eating habits to prepare my body and mind for the "no solid food for 72 hours".  They have an entire section in the book on what to eat and drink during the pre-cleanse.  I went to Earth Fare(the healthy supermarket) for the second time in my entire life and stocked up on more fruits and veggies my kitchen has ever seen...and all of this is just prepare myself!

I am a nervous wreck to actually start the cleanse itself TOMORROW- I am scared I am going to faint, pass out, starve to death and most importantly fail and not make it all three days....fingers crossed!

Stripes, Leopard and a POP

Just a couple more hours until the INPINK multiple winner giveaway is over- enter now for a chance to win and don't forget to check back first thing tomorrow morning to see if YOU are one of the THIRTY winners!
