Guest Post from A Working Mom's Closet

September 8, 2011

Well hello, readers of A Fashion Fixation! My name is Melissa and I blog over at A Working Mom's Closet. I am honored to take over Ashley's space for a day!

Since she is so fabulous with her outfit of the day photos, and that's primarily what I do as well, I thought I'd just go ahead and post an outfit.

I tend to wear dresses and skirts more than anything else; I find them to be much more comfortable and flattering on me. This dress is an example of something I could wear to work and then out afterward as well.

My office is a little more conservative with the dress code, but this was worn on a Thursday when we're allowed to wear jeans, so I figured a little bit of pattern mixing couldn't hurt, right? Polka dots = good. Zebra print = good. Pop of color in the necklace = good. This has to be one of the most comfortable dresses in the world, too. Seriously, I could probably sleep in it. And I'm lazy enough that I think I may have actually done that once or twice.

What's great is that I can throw on a blazer for a more professional look, or pop the collar for a more casual look after work. I can layer a cardigan for chilly days in the office AC or add some tights in the winter for a pop of color, too.
