Holiday 101

December 7, 2010

I have quite a few holiday parties coming up this month and here is a look I created for one of the business casual ones. I wanted to be dressy but not look like I was trying to hard so I opted for clothing I already had in my closet and tried to spice it up a bit.

I also wanted to be comfortable so I went for a flowy skirt and top combo rather than a dress because as I eat, drink and be merry I didn't want to worry about an expanding tummy from all the goodness I was taking in. The shirt has beading down the front and on the bottom but I took it one more notch with my sparkly earrings to "up" the holiday effect. Finally, I added a non-stiletto high heel shoe in case I overindulge in one to many Spiked Eggnog drinks.

Gearing up for the holiday parties can be easy with a little sparkle and taking it one step further than your normal, everyday wear. If you get stuck in a holiday party rut ask me anything on formspring or afashionfixation@yahoo.com.

  1. I love this look! You look festive and fun without your outfit SCREAMING "Holiday Party Wear". And if you can be semi-comfy at the same time, I say, "Brava!!!!"

    Leaving The House in THIS?!?

  2. Your look is so cute for a holiday party! I love that you considered your shoe choice knowing you might "overindulge". I never do that and I regret it for sure! You look beautiful, and your legs are killer!

  4. very lovely outfit! black and white always work for formal events and it's smart wearing something wearing it won't show the belly as you're eating and drinking. i'll definitely keep this in mind for my next event!
