Day NINE and a question...

February 10, 2011

Okay-I am just gonna throw it out there...who else had/has problems with their skin when going off of birth control? Now before you freak out and think I am getting "babies on the brain" I am not. Hubs and I are not actively trying (yet) but I wanted to get all the anti baby stuff outta my body to be prepared when we do start planning for a mini me.

The real issue since going off of birthday control is my poor skin. I am guessing my little ole hormones are going kindda crazy right now and that is the cause of my breaking out like a 16 year old teenage girl. I mean...really...I am wayyyy to old to be dealing with this. Please, someone, tell me that this is normal and shall pass?

  2. That necklace is AMAZING!

And I recently stopped birth control for the same reason...and my skin has been terrible lately. I never linked the two, but it makes sense. You still look great!

  3. I love your turquoise pumps! So cute!
Amen about post-birth control hormones. Hang in there. Wait until they're out of your system for awhile and then you'll feel fantastic--of course, barring you don't get pregnant before then. ;) I haven't taken the pill in just over 6 years--it ended up taking longer to have a baby than we expected and then I got the Mirena IUD because I did NOT want to put that junk back in my body.
Can't wait to see your cute maternity outfits!

  5. The necklace is to-die-for. Adult acne is the worst- hopefully you will regulate everything soon!

  6. The pill supposedly helps clear up acne, so it makes sense you'd break out after going off of it. I'm sure it'll work itself out eventually. :)

    Love the necklace!

  8. I had the same problem coming off birth control. I'm pretty sure it's just your hormones going nutso.

  9. I love that necklace!! Francesca's collection is so awesome for stuff like that.

See, I'm the opposite, I'm hesitating to go ON birth control because it turns me into a crazy person!!

  10. YES. My skin goes crazy when I go off BC. Try using ProActiv. I adore the stuff and actually just went back on it. I am weaning my one year old and getting the hormonal breakouts. Even if you have one or two zits, it makes your whole face brighter and clearer, I LOVE IT!

  12. Going off the pill will do that to you. I went to a dermatologist that prescribed an antibiotic until my body could regulate itself. Post pill acne is very common and it will work itself out. I had more problems being on the pill then I do now. I have been pill free for 9 months. I will take a zit or two compared to how I felt while I was on it. I was very tired, gained weight, and I hated what it did to my hair. Hang in there and see a derm.

  16. First, you look gorgeous and all itty bitty and perfect. And ... hello, you know I live for sequins. Yes, please.

Second, my skin has been horrendous since I got off the pill, too! I've been off since last July (also not actively trying, right now), but... it hasn't really gotten better. :(

your skin will regulate. you're hormones will straighten out. the waiting is such a confidence buster though, I know the feeling.

  18. Dang girl, I love that skirt! And I cracked up when I read you hard tagged 'babies on the brain' haha! No skin probs here since I stopped taking it, but I am pretty religious about my skin care regiment so maybe that's why?

  25. Super adorable outfit, but sequins and polka dots are just irresistable aren't they? My skin didn't get weird after getting off BC, but I had a whole host of eye problems! I didn't realize it until recently, because I had to go back on it to shrink a cyst. My eye suddenly became better again! I think the hormone differences must have made my eye shape different and made my contacts fit improperly. Crazy, huh?
