Changing It Up....

I have worn this plain black dress on many occasions and wanted to do something different this time to change it up a bit. I bought this grey sleeveless vest at Old Navy a couple of weeks ago and thought it would be the perfect layering piece for a casual workday outfit. To spice up the color I added a bright orange belt and my multi colored flats and I was ready for the day!

Neutral Palette

Happy Monday! Today I have stuck with a rather neutral palette except for my brand new leopard print clutch. I got it from the cutest Etsy shop called CM Creole Creations and everything in her shop is made by hand. Check out all the purses, clutches and bags...you will want everything!

FBFF: Since I Started Blogging

1. Since you began blogging do you notice a change in the types of things you gravitate towards while shopping?

I have noticed some changes in my personal style since I started blogging but still tend to gravitate to more classic pieces while shopping. Where I can tell I have changed the most is in my accessories- colorful jewelry can transform the simplest outfit, hats make a huge statement and when it comes to fingernail polish...the brighter the better!

2. Do you find, as a fashion blogger, that you dress differently from your family and friends? Do they comment on that?

I don't think I dress that differently from my friends or family...the only comments I ever receive is people asking where I got my shirt, dress, etc which I think is positive feedback and take that as a HUGE compliment.

3. What's the weirdest fashion that you secretly like, even if you aren't bold enough to wear it?
It's not very weird but I really admire the mile high stiletto ( over 5 inches) but think I would break my ankle doing normal day to day activities.

4. Looking at current trends-what would you like to try but need to build up the courage to do?

I want to try rocking a headscarf but I am so afraid of looking stupid and people staring at me I have not had the courage to try that trend yet. Here is one daring blogger that took the plunge.

5. Toot someones horn-what fashion blogger out there inspires you with her fashion choices?

Bee of Atlantic Pacific....her fashion layering and statement pieces she rocks on a daily basis makes me shake my head in amazement every.single.day!

Dressing For My Mood...

Some days when I am feeling particularly uninspired, I just throw on the first thing that looks comfortable and will keep me cool in this heat and head out the door. Today was definitely ones of those days, it's a real miracle I took the time to put on heels...seriously wishing I could wear flip flops to the office.

Work With What You've Got!

Yesterday I had off work and I ran a couple errands and got an afternoon manicure and pedicure-happy first day of summer to me!

Instead of browsing some of my favorite stores during my free time(which happens to be right where I ran my errands) I went home and shopped my closet....GASP! We are trying to save some money up to buy a house so the logical side of my brain made me go home and this is the outfit I came up with.

Jean Shorts= Jorts

Ok, so the REAL question is....are jean shorts cool?? I bought these jeans shorts at Old Navy a couple of weeks ago and have been wearing them constantly but my husband has not stopped making fun of me! He is making me paranoid so I need some more opinions...

How Does Your Garden Grow?

I love this sweet little dress I got off eBay! It makes me feel so "housewife like"....hence watering the flowers in my outfit and heels.

While shopping on eBay does take time AND patience, I feel like it is worth it. You find one of a kind vintage pieces and with the right tailor (or if you can sew yourself) you can tweak most items.

Things That Make Ya Go Hmmm???

1. Waking up to go to spin class just to be told when I get there that they don't have enough bikes for everyone. Really, REALLY-you think I wake up at 5:30am for the heck of it!

2. Getting rid of clothes that still had the tags attached to them (I need to quit buying random stuff obviously).

3. Losing some followers because I have only blogged a handful of times in the past two weeks...I couldn't help it people, my computer went down.

4. Seeing rather large women in daisy dukes and tank tops...the look is not very flattering. Side note-you always see these people in Wal-mart!

5. Peeling on my forehead near my scalp and it looking like dandruff in my hair.
