I still can not believe it's September! It's time to bring back all my fall hats and boots and I am so excited about it. It is still very hot where I live so this swing dress is perfect for this time of year. I am obsessed with floral everything right now so when I saw this at Old Navy I bought it right away. I'm already envisioning it with tights, tall boots and a long cardigan sweater when the weather gets a little cooler.

Whew- what a jam packed weekend I had! Impromptu get-together to watch a fabulous band on Friday night, Brewers Jam 2014 on Saturday with some of my favorites and my best friend's baby boy had his third birthday party on Sunday.

This weekend will be JUST as crazy because it is the UT/Alabama game and I have a crew coming in town. Maybe after football season I will be able to relax on the weekends but until then...go VOLS!

You will never see me doing a rain dance so the title is a little misleading...I loathe rain.  It puts a damper on taking blog pictures, my hair and working out outside (I might not have thought cancelling my Y membership all the way through mmmkay). 

I tried to be all festive today whipping out the red tights in anticipation for Valentine's Day but colored tights may not be my thing. I always feel like people are looking at me weird but it may just be my imagination.

It seems only fitting that I dressed Parisian chic style (at least from the waist up) after finishing Paula McLain's The Paris Wife. My mom let me borrow the book almost six months ago and I just tossed it aside until recently. It's a fictionalized account of Ernest Hemingway's marriage to Hadley Richardson, the first of his four wives. 

 I started reading it and couldn't put it down!

This is a perfect example of what I wear on the weekends...only if I have to see people and run errands. (Let's be honest...most of the time I am in my pajamas)

It was beautiful outside yesterday and finally warm enough not to have to haul around a jacket so I took advantage and ran some errands, exercised outside and then had dinner with the husband and friends at P.F. Changs (yum, yum).

Frigid weather makes for the fastest blog pictures in history...these had to be some sort of record.  Grey is one of my colors I gravitate towards when the weather is yucky (along with black...no-brainer). 

 Everyone stay safe and hopefully this weather will warm up sooner rather than later.

Plaid has become such a closet staple this season that I decided to show you how I styled one of my plaid button ups three different ways, over the next three days.

Today I decided to wear it more rocker chic with a faux leather skirt and booties and kept the jewelry minimal with just a pair of earrings.  Stayed tuned for tomorrow's post because I am teaming up with two other bloggers and showing my favorite outfit of this series!

Well....apparently I took a one week hiatus from blogging. It wasn't intended and it wasn't like I didn't get dressed last week so my apologies! 

Let's talk about plaid or leopard...or plaid AND leopard.  I bought this scarf on Poshmark(shop my closet) a couple weeks ago and love it.  It is really big so I can wear it a bunch of different ways with a bunch of different things...kinda a win/win in my book.  Everyone knows that leopard is the new neutral so why not throw it into the mix as well.
