This top is MADE for twirling!

I think this is one of the first things I bought when I found out I was pregnant and you can probably see why...even if I gain 500 pounds (yikes) during pregnancy  I would still be able to wear this oversized top.

Pattern At Play

 

 Another work week ends...another successful Gwynnie Bee dress to get me through said work week. Don't get me wrong, I have had some awful dress mishaps with the service that went straight back without me even wearing them out of the house but this package of items were fabulous. 

 Take this Leota dress for instance- the fit-and-flare design has some stretch, full skirt and some ruching in the tummy area to camouflage my baby bump or bloat (some days I can't decide what is bigger).  

Speaking of the babies..my 14 week appointment is at 9am this morning.  I am so excited to see them!  Even though it's only been three weeks...since I cannot feel them moving around yet I take great comfort in being able to see them on the ultrasound screen and making sure they are okay.  According to one of my baby apps (don't ask how many I have on my phone) they are doubling in size every week now so I bet they are so big compared to my last one.

The weather has been so nice this week it made me reach for some of the brightest winter items in my wardrobe today.  I actually got hot at work with all my layers on...in January!

I am NOT complaining by any means- I will take 50 degrees over snow any day.

Ashley's Tip Of The Day- Just because you are not petite, which I am clearly not, don't underestimate shopping in the petite section. I was browsing the petite section at JC Penny and found this polka dot blouse with leather trim for $12 dollars people!

The week of Valentine's Day I cannot help dressing up in reds, pinks and utterly girly items like this fit and flare skirt and bow blouse.  My husband said this outfit "had a lot going on" but I love the doubled up polka dots.

What's Old Is New

I had been lusting over this vintage leopard swing coat since August 4th, 2013 (yes, I seriously know the date I spotted it) and now it is mine!  I saw it on Poshmark forever ago and kept it in my "likes" and seriously looked at it at least twice a week to make sure it hadn't sold yet.  It was a risky, risky gamble but it was pricey and I was also scared about the fit since vintage items usually run small.  

I told a couple people it was at the top of my Christmas list hoping someone would get it for me and on Christmas day it became mine, thanks to mom and dad.  I absolutely love it!

Floppy hats are great at the beach but are also great for day to day life.  I was skeptical at first and then purchased this one on Poshmark (shop my closet here) and fell in love.  What a fun twist to a simple jeans and button up outfit...plus it helps on bad hair days!

If I could wear polka dots every day to work I would...but that might get tedious...and my co-workers might think I was some crazy polka-dot lady.

I thrifted this dress off of eBay which is always a risky decision with vintage type items but it fits perfectly.  The only problem was the length of the dress but I couldn't wait to wear it and looking at my pictures I don't think the below the knee length looks so bad.  Originally I was going to hem it to right at knee length but I may keep it the way it is...thoughts??

I am so happy I finally bought a denim vest! I have been wanting one for awhile and I knew to go directly to Old Navy because that is where I buy all things that are denim. I spent almost an hour last night trying my new vest over all kinds of stuff (I kid you not) and it looks great over everything.  It is such a great staple piece in my wardrobe...highly recommend.
