This past Friday was my five year wedding anniversary...holy shit...FIVE YEARS!

My husband and I celebrated with one of the best steak restaurants in Knoxville, unfortunately it's one of those hole in the wall kinda places so dressing up was outta the question.  I went with a denim on denim combo (a twist on the Canadian tuxedo if you will) but added a bright red jacket and polka dot heels to spruce it up.

I have been living in jeans and my ankle boots for weeks now and put all my skirts and dresses on the back burner this season.  This weather makes me so lazy and I stay in bed until the last minute and then scramble to put an outfit together.

It's the time of year when the weather can be very up in the air throughout the day...cold in the morning but warming up in the afternoons.

 Layering is key!

The last time I wore this Loft dress was with tights, tall boots and a denim vest back when snow was still on the ground.  Transitioning this long sleeved dress was as simple as bare legs, ankle boots and my denim jacket for the early morning and chilly evenings.

This is such an easy work outfit to recreate. 

I grabbed a khaki A-line skirt, denim shirt, animal print scarf and ankle boots and added a belt to cinch my waist.  Comfortable, practical everyday pieces that most women have in their closet!

I am loving that the animal prints on clothing has continued for another season.  I picked up this horse print button up at Francesca's a couple weeks ago in stores (couldn't find it on the website).   I am also waiting for this cutie to get delivered to my doorstep.

Orange and Chambray...

Today's outfit was inspired after looking back on some of my Pinterest boards and remembering an outfit I had pinned a while back.  I recreated it for the hot days of summer by replacing the heavy jean jacket with my lightweight chambray shirt, a shorter version of the long, maxi skirt and added some flat sandals to complete the look.

Minty Fresh...

Mint green is the perfect color for spring so it's a good thing it is so popular this season. This pale, pastel shade is the new updated neutral but I played it safe and went with a chambray shirt (which is always a sure thing).
