Happy Valentine's Day

 

 I am in love with the fit of this dress. I am wearing a XS and it fits like a glove...it could be a tad looser in the bust but otherwise perfection.

 I thought this was the ideal outfit to wear for a Valentine's Day date. My husband and I actually celebrated this past Friday with lunch and a early movie while we had a babysitter to watch the kids. We will take what we can get- ha!

Winter Florals

 I ordered this winter floral top on a whim and I love it so much! The criss-cross design on the top is so trendy. I have been wearing jeans constantly and thank goodness for Old Navy because I keep buying new ones and they are so affordable. The Mid-Rise Rockstar fit is my absolute favorite.

Floral and Ruffles and Mint Jeans

Well...I joined StitchFix and I am finally getting around to reviewing the personal styling delivery experience. First of all- I bought these jeans from my first "fix" and signed up to receive another one this month so I obviously liked it. Since my personal stylist has never worked with me before I was pretty impressed that I actually bought at least one thing out of my box. I have never owned a pair of jeans this color and they fit perfectly...the brand is Lila Ryan (a new-to-me brand). This time around I added a detailed personal note to my stylist asking for more specific pieces and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with.  I am thinking about reviewing each piece she sends me...is that something you would be interested in seeing?

Black Floral Swing Dress

I still can not believe it's September! It's time to bring back all my fall hats and boots and I am so excited about it. It is still very hot where I live so this swing dress is perfect for this time of year. I am obsessed with floral everything right now so when I saw this at Old Navy I bought it right away. I'm already envisioning it with tights, tall boots and a long cardigan sweater when the weather gets a little cooler.

 I love the scoop neck and the boxy fit of the dress but I added a belt to cinch in my waist just a little bit. It almost makes getting dressed on a Monday not so bad.

Floral Fusion

I am BACK...and fever free...and dressed! So when I mentioned I was running a fever in this post, which is also the last time I blogged, it was because I had the flu. My fever got up to 101.8 Monday night and my husband dragged me to the walk-in clinic where I got tested and was promptly told I had the flu, type B. I had to walk out of Kroger with a mask on per the doctor and I.was.mortified. I am feeling soooo much better (thank goodness for Tamiflu) but still have a cough and stuffy nose.

 

 I wanted to do a review of this Cynthia Blocked Shift Dress that was sent from Gwynnie Bee since I am finally out of my pajamas and ready to leave the house for the first time in two days. I really love the floral and black solid mash up and it's no surprise I love the shape (see other shift dresses here and here) but it was just a little bit baggy all over. If this dress was a couple inches shorter I think it would have made a world of difference on me but overall I loved how fresh and modern it was.

Y'all I just got home yesterday and I realized I have only been in town five full days this month...whew!  I am ready to quit traveling and just breathe and sit.  

Please pray for my grandfather, Papa, who is in the hospital due to complications with back surgery.  He was doing better when we went and visited him in Nashville yesterday but the power of prayer is a wonderful thing.

I have such a crush on open back tops right now.  I have four in my closet and will continue to add to my collection.  This sweater can actually be unbuttoned and worn as a cardigan...win win in my book.

I picked up lots of goodies at Old Navy a couple of weeks ago and this shirt was one of my purchases. I love the bright green color with the floral print and can already think of tons of ways to carry this top through winter. Normally button ups gape open on me through my bust area which is sooooooo annoying but I can wear a large in Old Navy and have no problems.  

Derby Day

I have never been to the Kentucky Derby but have always wanted to go....mainly just to see all the fashion and the hats. I went to a derby themed event over the weekend and finally got to wear my new hat that I bought months ago after seeing it on Pinterest.  Since it had the hot pink brim I decided to go with my floral dress that I wore on Easter and some comfortable wedges.
