This "getting dressed" thing is a lot harder than I imagined since having kids. I don't know if it is like this with singleton babies but these twins keep me on my toes 24/7. As soon as one goes down for a nap, the other twin wakes up and vice versa...how do other multiple mom's do it?! I feel like I constantly rotate between my workout clothes (than I'm not working out in) and pajamas and when I do actually get dressed my clothes have spit up on them within the hour. I seriously need any advice you mamma's out there can give me...how do you make it work?

It's Fall Y'all

I'm a little late but my house is finally decorated for the fall season, both inside and out. I found this monogrammed polka dot pumpkin at Kirkland's and fell in love (It's a little girly but my husband doesn't seem to mind.)

I have embraced everything seasonal so far starting with the Pumpkin Spiced Latte (obvi), and the faux fur vests, and most importantly what to be thankful for a whole month before Thanksgiving.  My family is so blessed this season especially because of the arrival of the babies...the greatest blessing of all.

Nautical

I had a bit of a scare over the weekend and called in to my doctor's office yesterday and went in for a ultrasound at 10:30am. I have been feeling a ton of pressure in my lower stomach and getting nosebleeds frequently all the sudden (obviously separate incidents). All the nurse heard was twins in our conversation and got me in right away...the one good thing about being considered "high-risk".  Turns out both babies and myself are perfectly fine and healthy but they are both head down and getting bigger hence the heavy/pressure feeling.  My doctor suggested getting a pregnancy belt which is basically a girdle to hoist my belly up because it is only going to get worse.  Oh, the joys of pregnancy I never knew about. 

PS- nosebleeds are also common during pregnancy due to the increase blood flow in your body and make your tissues soften.  This can cause your blood vessels to constrict, which results in congestion and bloody noses.

BodyCon Baby Bump Style

For the first time this whole pregnancy I am embracing my baby bump and wearing a bodycon dress. I love the way my bump looks in this Old Navy dress...ahem, that was only $8.99! I picked up this stripy number on Sunday on a random walk through the maternity section and thought the colors would work fabulous transitioning into the fall with a jean jacket, black blazer, etc. I got a large so fingers crossed it will still fit in my eight month of pregnancy (I'm in my sixth now).

Red, White and Blue Strong

My red, white and blue game is still going strong this week. I forgot about this J. Crew cardigan with little anchors all over it so I had to create a nautical (and apparently patriotic) look around it.

I'm so excited for today...my husband and I are going to start registering for the babies.  I have been doing my research (like for hours on end) so I am ready.  Let's do this!

Seeing Stripes

 You may (or may not) be able to tell that I went back to my natural dark hair color over the weekend...bye bye highlights! I just needed something easy and low maintenance with all the upcoming changes taking place in the future and my husband and I are saving all the money we can before the babies arrive. We had a pretty boring weekend cleaning out all the upstairs closets and getting loads of unwanted stuff ready for a yard sale at the end of the month.

 I went to the pool on Saturday for a couple of hours and then went to another trunk show for Southern Bella and bought MORE stuff from them. I can't wait to show you some of the new inventory in my upcoming blog posts.

 I am so glad I ended up buying this Kayce Hughes necklace last year. I love those impulse buys that end up being something you reach for again and again and this is one of them. If you have a Kayce Hughes store in your area definitely check it out! They have such cute classy pieces...check the store out online- I have my eye on this and this. I am going home next weekend for my mom's birthday so I won't get to celebrate Mother's Day with my mom but the card is already in the mail and she gets a birthday gift next weekend so I think she will be happy. A group of my friends are getting together on Sunday to do brunch since all of our parents live out of town.

Snakeskin Print

I love that this snakeskin print is toned down enough (thanks to the small print and black and white color scheme) for a business casual work environment. Some animal print is WAY to wild and crazy for work attire but this dress was perfect for a busy day at my office.

A Little Slice of Sunshine

 

 The snow and ice finally melted and we got sunshine over the weekend! 

 I was so happy to get a little glimmer of warmth and blue skies but of course I got sick and was running a fever yesterday and stayed in bed all afternoon. (Woke up from a two hour nap and no fever...it was the strangest thing) 

I wear my skinny jeans so often that I forget how much I like wide legged jeans until I pull them out again. I have had this Loft pair for years and they are still my favorite pair. This bright yellow boho top is a newbie in my closet but I am already envisioning it with crisp white jeans and wedges when the weather gets a tad warmer.

White Out

 It snowed again (big surprise) in Knoxville...if I wanted to live in weather like this I would have moved to Vermont. I mean, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I am two seconds away from jumping on the next flight to Hawaii outta here.

 

 I have seen countless all white outfits while browsing Pinterest (follow me here) and finally decided to try it myself after being mildly hesitant on putting all white everything on a real, average sized figure instead of stick skinny NY model types that I keep pinning. 

 I have to say...I don't hate it.
